Dimethoxytolyl Propylresorcinol is a tyrosinase inhibitor isolated from methanol extracts of Swordleaf Dianella Rhizome, also named Swordleaf Dianella Rhizome Extract, Dimethoxytolyl Propylresorcinol constitutes around 0.01%~0.05% of the plant’s dry weight and is presently sourced primarily through organic synthesis. Dimethoxytolyl Propylresorcinol is a light brown to off-white powder, slightly soluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as methanol and ethanol.
Dimethoxytolyl Propylresorcinol is commonly used as a whitening active ingredient in cosmetics, it is particularly effective in brightening, lightening pigmentation and combating photoaging. Below are its main functions and mechanism of action:
